Marcella Lopes Guimarães Research Line: Culture & Power marcella I was born in the city of Rio de Janeiro (RJ) on February 6, 1974. I have lived in Curitiba (PR) since 1998 where I studied History at UFPR. I defended my thesis in 2004: Estudo das representações de monarca nas crônicas de Fernão Lopes (séculos XIV e XV).  O espelho do rei: “- Decifra-me e te devoro” (Study of the representations of the monarch in the chronicles of Fernão Lopes – 14th and 15th centuries – The mirror of the king – Solve me or I devour you”). In Rio de Janeiro, I graduated in Letters at UFRJ, where I got a diploma cum laude. At UERJ, I specialized in Portuguese Literature and defended a Monograph entitled O Narrador e suas heroínas em O que fazem mulheres – romance filosófico, de Camilo Castelo Branco (The narrator and his heroines in What women do – philosophical romance by Camilo Castelo Branco) . Back at UFRJ, I took my Master’s, also in the area of Portuguese Literature. I defended my thesis, Visões da cidade: um passeio por Rua de Miguel Torga  (Images of the city: a walk by the Miguel Torga Street) in 1999 and in 2001, this work was published by Juruá Publishers (Curitiba – PR).   It was also during my Master’s that I found the chronicles of Fernão Lopes’s. My career began in a Teaching position in Curitiba, where I worked as a Professor of Portuguese and then in Superior Teaching, at the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná (PUCPR) as Professor of Portuguese Literature and History of Ancient and Medieval Church. In 2006, I did the examination for Associate Professor of Medieval History at UFPR and was approved in the first place. I am a researcher in the area of Medieval History.  I organized and co-authored a collection of essays on literature, gathering great teachers in the area (Literatura dos anos 90: diversidades cultural e recepcional,  – Literature of the 1990s: cultural and receptional diversities – Curitiba.
